Flow Blurring® Specifications

Back-flow nebulization mechanism derives from a global bifurcation of the liquid-gas flow pattern in a coaxial genuine Flow Focusing nebulizer (A.M. Gañán-Calvo 2005, Appl. Phys. Lett. 86, 214102); this bifurcation is triggered by a single geometrical parameter of the nozzle. The extremely simple geometry involved can be implemented down to a micrometric scale, thus enabling the improvement of current nebulizers and unprecedented novel designs.

Compared to other pneumatic nebulization technologies, Flow Blurring® produces sprays with much finer droplets for the same energy cost or sprays with the same droplet size, but important energy saving. Therefore, OneNeb Nebulizers could be considered low-energy, high-efficiency pneumatic nebulizers that work at moderate pressures.
